New rules mean couples can now file for divorce online at any time of the day or night – and it’s something they’re taking advantage of.
In 2019, 455 people filed for divorce over the festive period – including 13 on Big Day itself, official figures show.
Christmas can easily put pressure on relationships and marriages. Dubbed Divorce Day, the first Monday in January is apparently the most popular day to start legal procedures for a divorce as marriages meltdown over the festive season.
